‘Texas’ rakes in 2 billion in Iran

New film ‘Texas’ currently run in Iranian cinemas has racked up over 2 billion rials, joining top-grossing titles.

With such box office takings, Masoud Atyabi’s flick ranks 6th among high-grossing films such as ‘Damascus Time’ directed by Ebrahim Hatamikia.

‘Texas’ has an action comic theme and enjoys some foreign stars.

“Never threaten an Iranian, even in Texas,” a tagline for the flick says.

Pejman Jamshidi, Sam Derakhshani and Hamid Farrokhnejad star in the movie.

Atyabi is an Iranian producer, production manager and director who graduated in production management.

He has directed a number of movies, including ‘Calamities of the Maiden’, ‘The Fighter Rooster’, ‘Morning of the Seventh Day’, ‘The First Condition’ and ‘The Silent Tower’.
